(Howmet) is currently in search of an Infrastructure Specialist, Local Area Network (LAN) to join our Global Information Services (GIS) Resource Unit based out of Whitehall, Michigan.
The position will report into the Senior LAN Manager and be part of the Corporate Network IT team that strives to maintain the environment to ensure continuous operations and actively designs and builds innovative solutions to address business and customer needs.
The role of the Infrastructure LAN Specialist, is to provide local and remote support for multiple locations, based mainly in the US and Mexico.
This includes:
Planning, designing, analyzing, and providing technical support for data communications of networks.
Network monitoring, Capacity and Configuration Management Coordinating changes on all Network software and hardware Create andor maintain current quality documentation Provide governance and conform to security requirements Proficient in Cisco route/switch/wireless and firewall platforms.
Major Activities / Key Challenges:
Select, direct, and monitor the implementation of wired and wireless equipment for the business and process networks for supported sites Configure and implement networks for multiple sites Process, support and represent business requests Manage telecommunications projects Maintain compliance for network components Support over 300 critical network devices and maintain a 99% uptime Essential Knowledge & Skills:
The individual must be knowledgeable in business standards, conventions, procedures, and technical environments.
Strong customer engagement skills with excellent interpersonal and presentational skills, with the ability to communicate (verbally and written) at all levels of the business, IT, and corporate partners (vendors) effectively.
Develops and improves the expertise needed to demonstrate the effectiveness of changes to the specialized systems that result in solving specific business problems.
Using the preferred list of products and services used by Howmet, directing and influencing product and service choices in such a way that this preferred list is adhered to.
Effectively engage Level 1 (customer contact), Level 2 (initial troubleshooting and resolution), and Level 3 (project/design work) support to assist the customer.
Major Customers:
Howmet manufacturing locations Suppliers of products and services Teams, peers, manager, and other relevant personnel in the GIS organization Up to 20% travel is expected in this role Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering from an accredited institution or 5 years of IT experience with current Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification 5 years of experience implementing and supporting network solutions with Multi-platform Cisco Routers, Switches, EIGRP, BGP, VoIP and Network Management tools.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Experience with Palo Alto and ISE Salary range :
$85 - 105k/year approximation (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/or location).
