Segment Controller

We are looking for the Segment Controller for our segment. The Segment Controller will report to the VP and General Manager for the business segment and will have a dotted line to the Director of Finance for the Business Unit. The Segment Controller oversees the finance organization for a segment that includes multiples manufacturing locations in North America. This role, together with the VP and General Manager, has P&L responsibility for all these locations. The location controllers, and their teams at each of the segment's locations, have a dotted line to the Segment Controller. The role is in charge of developing his team of finance professionals, maintaining benchmark financial controls and compliance and provide business leadership to deliver profitable growth and cash generation. Key responsibilities include:
Controls and Compliance The role is the gate keeper for finance controls and compliance in the segment. The role ensures malpractices and restatements are prevented. Ensure financial controls are in place, adequate and sustainable, Ensure the segment financial processes are in line with the Howmet procedures, Ensure transparent communications with the Business Unit compliance manager, Finance director and VP of Finance, Ensures the segment's locations have strong results during internal and external/statutory financial audits, Ensure the locations' SOX processes (audits, action plan closure, etc.) meet the corporation and the Business Unit's expectations. Ensure a strong quality of the self-assessed audits and action plans closure, Lead continuous improvement initiatives for financial controls & compliance in the segment. Talent Ensure full staffing of the finance teams by proactive development of a talent bench, establishing talent pulls and maintaining a strong process from succession plans, search to onboarding, Ensure the finance organization is provided with the correct work environment, which includes also the automation tools to minimize simple data collection, Ensure roles and functions in the finance organization are clearly defined and effective, Support & step-in in case of location controller turnover, Help define and track finance staff performance metrics, Ensure the segment staff are provided with regular training, Ensure there is genuine segment teamwork across the segment finance team and with the business unit and corporate teams, Ensure visibility of finance talents in the segment to the segment leadership as well as business unit and corporate leadership. Ensure finance talents are provided with development and career opportunities within Howmet. Lead continuous improvement initiatives for financial talent in the segment. Business Partnering The Segment Controller, together with the segment leadership, leads the segment business to deliver profitable growth and continuous improvement of the financial performance of the segment:
revenue, profit & profitability, cash and balance sheet positioning. This role is a critical business partner of the segment VP & General Manager. Ensures financial data and reporting is current, complete and accurate. Ensure business tracking processes & tools in place, effective, genuine, understood and sustainable:
monthly business reviews and forecast weekly and daily processes. Leads and coordinates establishing financial plans, budgets and forecasts. Together with the segment VP & General Manager leads and coordinates meeting financial plans, budgets and forecasts. Ensure financial performance is analyzed and understood. The role ensures financial performance improvements, degradations and improvement opportunities are identified, understood and communicated. Runs ad-hoc financial analyses for the segment or the locations, Together with the segment VP & General Manager, this role is the voice of the segment to the Business Unit or the corporation. This includes reviewing forecasts, business reviews, capital projects reviews, ad-hoc projects, etc. The scope covered includes the entire P&L and Balance Sheet and associated drivers:
revenue, costs, capital expenditures, A/R, A/P, Inventories, etc. Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the segment financial performance. To be successful this position requires traveling to various operating facilities (some international) on a periodic basis. Qualifications Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting/Accountancy from an accredited university Minimum 7 years' experience working in Finance and/or Accounting. Minimum 4 years in a Finance and/or Accounting within in a manufacturing environment. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred
Qualifications:
Expert at Microsoft Excel, all Hyperion planning and reporting applications, Oracle querying. Experience in using queries, including Essbase, Hyperion, Oracle, or similar systems. Strong leadership skills. The position provides decision support analysis for key business decisions. The incumbent needs to be comfortable analyzing complex problems, working on ambiguous projects, making decisions, and convincing the controllers to follow. Strong communication skills. Incumbent needs to be able to get into the details to identify issues; but be able to explain things in a concise manner. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. Works well in a team environment. Strong leadership and talent development skills. Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Highly proficient in using Excel. Previous experience with cost accounting. Strong organizational skills in managing multiple projects with tight deadlines. MBA and/or CPA preferred.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Corporate FinanceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
